Great River Hospice will hold an orientation for musicians interested in volunteering for its music care program. Music can help patients at end of life alleviate pain, enhance memory, improve communication and manage stress.
The training is scheduled from 5 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday, May 14, at Great River Hospice House, 1306 S. Washington Rd., West Burlington. After completing the training, music volunteers are asked to perform two to three times a year on Sunday afternoons at the hospice house. Musicians also may play in patients' homes.
