January 26th, 2009Becky Peitz, medical staff coordinator at Great River Medical Center, has earned two certifications from the National Association of Medical Staff Services. Awarded were the Certified Provider Credentialing Specialist (CPCS) and Certified Professional Medical Services Management (CPMSM) credentials, each involving rigorous study and testing with three and five years required experience, respectively.
The CPCS designation plays an integral part in a credentialing team and is responsible for maintaining compliance with regulatory and accrediting bodies and participates in the development and implementation of the credentialing process.
Additionally, the CPMSM certification shows proficiency in maintaining compliance with regulatory agencies, management of medical service functions such as staffing and budgets, continuing medical education and provider relations, among other skills.
Peitz, a registered nurse and resident of West Point, Iowa, has been with Great River Medical Center for 15 years, and has served as Medical Staff Coordinator for six years.
