First Federal Savings Bank of Iowa is sponsoring a free Burlington Civic Music Association performance for area students beginning at 1 p.m. Saturday, May 7, at Memorial Auditorium, Burlington, Iowa.

The performance features Jeri Sager, an accomplished singer and performer who starred as Grizabella in “Cats” and appeared as Fantine in “Les Miserables.” Although known for her Broadway starring roles, Sager made her debut at the Grand Ole Opry, has performed with the United Service Organizations, and has toured throughout Europe, Japan, the Caribbean and "every town in the United States on Jeopardy." Sager also will perform later that evening to close the Civic Music’s 81st season of providing high-quality musical performances on the river.

“First Federal is proud to work with Burlington Civic Music to make such accomplished talent available to area students,” said Bill Fry, president of First Federal Iowa’s Southeast Iowa Division. “Music can have such a long-lasting impact on students, and seeing and hearing a performer like Jeri Sager in a more casual environment is both entertaining and educational.”

Adults must be accompanied by a student to the free afternoon performance. Ticket information for Burlington Civic Music Association’s 2011-2012 season is available at www.burlcivicmusic.com, or call (319) 752-0336, or e-mail burlcivicmusic@mchsi.com.
