“Tear Soup: A Recipe for Healing” is the title of a free bereavement workshop offered by Great River Home Health Care and Hospice. Based on the book Tear Soup, the workshop will provide a better understanding of grief and many suggestions for working through grief and helping others with their grief. Participants will learn how to perform the “art” of grieving and how to fill the void in life left by a loved one’s death.
“Tear Soup: A Recipe for Healing” will be offered twice on Saturday, March 19, at two different locations:
- Mt. Pleasant, Iowa – 9 to 11:30 a.m., Science Hall, Room 125, Iowa Wesleyan College. The program is supported by the Iowa Wesleyan College Division of Nursing.
- West Burlington – 1:30 to 4 p.m., Great River Hospice House, 1306 S. Washington Rd.
Great River Hospice social worker Joan Rodgers, M.S.W., LISW, will present the program.
“This program is as much for people who want to understand grief and reach out to others to help with their grief, as it is for those who are grieving themselves,” said Rodgers.
Registration is not required, but encouraged. For more information, please call Great River Home Health Care and Hospice at (319) 768-3350, (319) 986-6325 or toll-free (877) 404-4766.
