Reeling in Grief: A Workshop for Men will combine life lessons and grief-coping strategies with the relaxation of fishing. It is scheduled at 3 p.m. Saturday, August 20, at Great River Hospice House, 1306 S. Washington Rd., West Burlington.
The workshop will begin with presentations by Great River Hospice Chaplain Dean Graber and Cosmo Leone, a member of Hospice’s community relations advisory board. Graber will provide helpful information for living after a loss. Leone will share his experience of working through grief following the death of his father.
At 4 p.m., the men will have the unique opportunity to fish in Great River Medical Center’s lake. The lake is not open to public fishing. Fishing poles will be available or participants may bring their own.
Pre-registration is required. For more information or to register, please call Great River Home Health Care and Hospice at (319) 768-3350, (319) 986-6325 or toll-free (877) 404-4766.
