Two Great River Health Systems volunteers recently completed a six-day extensive training program on Medicare benefits. Ronald Waytes and Lynda White join three other volunteers who provide information through the Senior Health Insurance Information Program (SHIIP).
Offered at Great River Health Systems, SHIIP is a free, confidential service of the State of Iowa that provides unbiased information to help Iowans make decisions about Medicare and other health coverage. People should enroll in Medicare as soon as they turn 65. The 2012 Part D enrollment period is from Monday, Oct. 15, through Friday, Dec. 7.
“We are proud to offer SHIIP through Great River Health Systems’s Volunteer Services Department,” said Staci Fry, director, Volunteer Services. “Having five volunteers will ensure quicker service, especially during the busy Part D enrollment period. We’re grateful for our volunteers’ dedication.”
