Great River Health Systems and the Southeast Iowa Area Parkinson’s Support Group will host a premiere party for The Michael J. Fox Show Thursday, Sept. 26, at the Great River Wellness Plaza, 1401 W. Agency Road, West Burlington, Iowa. A reception will begin at 6:30 p.m., followed by the show’s 8 p.m. premiere on large-screen televisions at the plaza.
Michael J. Fox is returning to television this fall, starring in a sitcom for the first time in more than a decade. Thousands of hosts nationwide and The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research have scheduled events on Sept. 26 to watch the show’s premiere and celebrate what Fox’s return to television says about the power of optimism.
Besides the show’s premiere, the local event will include tours of the new fitness facilities at the Wellness Plaza and demonstrations of the Delay the Disease exercise class and other exercises that can lessen and delay symptoms for people with Parkinson’s disease. Hors d’oeuvres will be provided.
Those interested in attending the premiere party should R.S.V.P. by Tuesday, Sept. 24, to Great River Corporate Education at 319-768-4070.
